Use of Article according to subject – Verb Agreement
Hence singular verb will be used.
E.g. (a) A white and black gown was bought by her.
(b) Churchill was a great orator and a great politician of his time.
Churchill was a great orator and political of his time.
But if an article is used before every subject, it refers to different people/ things.
E.g. (a) The director and the producer have come.
(b) The secretary and the treasurer were present there.
Here secretary & treasurer are different individuals.)
