Read the passage and answer the following questions: Communication is the dissemination of information and has been a part and parcel of human existence and so very vital for an individual's survival. It is the foundation for all other fields of inquiry and is the vehicle for human action. The system of dissemination of communication in the present day has undergone great changes with the development of the State of the art technology and technological advances in the field of mass communication. Media forms a vital part of the Communication systems globally today and takes two essential forms - the Print Media and the Electronic Media. The basic function of mass media is to provide information, education, instruction and entertainment to the people. The media also motivates people, directly or indirectly in any community. India is experiencing a rapidly changing media environment. The new vistas evolved in the ‘communications revolution’ with satellite broadcasting and other advances in technology cut across national boundaries, putting the media beyond the reach of Governments and social institutions such as the family and community. While the globalization of the media offers the promise of greater interaction among peoples, it can also create and reinforce images, attitudes and behaviour.
With reference to the passage, consider the following statements:
1. Entertainment is the most important function of the Electronic media.
2. The media environment in India is stagnant
3. Media can influence attitudes and behaviour.
4. Due to the communications revolution, the media is slowly becoming a part of a bureaucratic structure.
Which of the statements given above is/are correct?

Media in a bureaucratic structure is not mentioned anywhere. Last line has 'media influences attitudes and behaviour'. Answer should be '3 only'
Abhinandan
Sir, option D should not be the correct answer, as in the message it is mentioned that "advances in technologies... putting media BEYOND THE REACH OF GOVERNMENTS and social institutions..." Thereby implying that due to the communication revolution, the media is rather going beyond the reach of bureacracy. Kindly correct me if i am wrong. Thank you.
