Why In News?

• Sunil Uniyal Gama, Mayor of Dehradun Municipal Corporation of Uttarakhand, has launched 'Bulk Waste Generation App' to segregate waste from all bulk waste generation- RWAs, apartments, hotels and restaurant premises in Dehradun Municipal Corporation.

Key Points:

=> It is known that there are a large number of flats, apartments, hotels, restaurants in Dehradun, from where a lot of garbage is generated in bulk, but all the garbage is dumped directly in the corporation vehicles without separating, while according to the rules, such institutions, hotels, restaurants have to give garbage separately.

=> Under the 'Bulk Waste Generator App', all the bulk generated in the Dehradun Municipal Corporation will have to register on this app.

=> After registration, if someone does not give the garbage separately, then the corporation will not pick up his garbage and will take action on that apartment, hotel, restaurant.

=> After registration in this app, the corporation will not only have data of all such institutions, hotels, restaurants, but will also know where the garbage will be picked up.

=> The app will have the number of apartments, hotels, restaurants.

=> For this, they will be given a QR code.

=> When the garbage is collected, the concerned institutions will call and after that the vehicle will reach the spot and pick up the garbage.

=> Garbage will not be picked up without scanning the QR code.
