Explanation:

 The main reasons for the separation of Uttarakhand from UP:

• Increased unemployment: Non of the districts of Uttarakhand had the infrastructure for good employment which resulted in 70% of unemployment in this region.
• Poor development: There were no major industries in Uttarakhand. Large-scale industries were almost zero while it was hard find the market for small-scale industries.
• Distance from capital: Distance from Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, is more than 600 km from the nearest point in Uttarakhand.
• Less role in government: Uttarakhand had very less role to play in government with only 15 seats in Uttar Pradesh Assembly & 2 seats in Parliament. Due to which people of Uttarakhand got unnoticed.

After separation, the results were quite evident and the decision of forming a new state was justified. Uttarakhand has seen a lot of advancement & development in hilly region. Now Uttarakhand gets it’s own budget from Central government and is free to invest in any field for state’s development.
