Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the three-day long 9th International Micro irrigation conference at Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Key points:

i. Aim of the conference was to share experiences the use of new technologies and best management practices in drip, micro-sprinkler, and other localized irrigation systems.
ii. The Theme of the conference was: “Micro Irrigation and Modern Agriculture”.
iii. The conference was organized by Ministry of Water Resources and River Development.
iv. 740 delegates including 100 foreign delegates from 56 countries are participating in the conference.
