Political Parties in Rajasthan :
The predominant political parties in the state are Indian National Congress and Bhartiya Janata Party and others are CPI ( M ), Indian National Lok Dal, Janata Dal ( United ), Lok Jan Shakti Party, Rajasthan Samajik Nyaya Manch, Rajasthan Vikas Party etc.
The main political parties in the state are :
INC ( Indian National Congress ) :
The Indian National Congress is a broadly based political party in India. Founded in 1885, it was the first modern nationalist movement to emerge in the British Empire in Asia and Africa. From the late 19th century, and especially after 1920, under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, Congress became the principal leader of the Indian independence movement. Congress led India to independence from Great Britain, and powerfully influenced other anti-colonial nationalist movements in the British Empire. Congress is a secular party whose social democratic platform is generally considered to be on the centre-left of Indian politics.
As of December 2018, the party is in power in six legislative assemblies: Karnataka (in an alliance with the JD(S)), Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and the union territory of Puducherry (in an alliance with the DMK).
BJP ( Bhartiya Janata Party ) :
Bharatiya Janata Party as of 2018, it is the country's largest political party in terms of representation in the national parliament and state assemblies, and it is the world's largest party in terms of primary membership. BJP is a right-wing party, and its policy has historically reflected Hindu-nationalist positions. It has close ideological and organisational links to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
The BJP's origin lies in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, formed in 1951 by Syama Prasad Mukherjee. After the State of Emergency in 1977, the Jana Sangh merged with several other parties to form the Janata Party; it defeated the Congress party in the 1977 general election. After three years in power, the Janata party dissolved in 1980 with the members of the erstwhile Jana Sangh reconvening to form the BJP. Although initially unsuccessful, winning only two seats in the 1984 general election, it grew in strength on the back of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. Following victories in several state elections and better performances in national elections, the BJP became the largest party in the parliament in 1996; however, it lacked a majority in the lower house of Parliament, and its government lasted only 13 days.
Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee assumed the responsibility of the BJP as the National President of BJP, who was converted from Jana Sangh to BJP, then at that time Mr. Jagdish Mathur, the first state president of BJP, got the responsibility of Rajasthan BJP. With hundreds of volunteer workers, the BJP has started appearing on the rampart. The simplicity and simplicity of Mr. Sunder Singh Bhandari and visionary thinking of Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat gave a new look to the BJP.
