Plateaus of Rajasthan :
Bhorat Plateau :
The highest section of the Aravalli range known as ‘Bhorat’ Plateau lies northwest of Udaipur between Kumbhalgarh - Gogunda and the average elevation of this plateau is 1,225 metres.
Deccan lava plateau :
The Deccan Lava Plateau is also known as ‘pathar (stony) or ‘uparmal’ plateau. It is a wide stony upland, including Kota-Bundi plateau section. The Chambal along with its tributaries Kali Sindh and Parbati form a triangular alluvial basin of 210m275m at Kota.
The Lasaria Plateau :
The area to the east of Jaisamand is occupied by the Lasaria Plateau of Mewar. It is a highly dissected plateau with elevations varying from 300 to 340 metres above the Mean Sea Level, The homogeneity or its even topography is frequently punctuated by the presence of a number of inliers of the older metamorphics projecting as isolated structural hills from the mean surface level of the plateau.
Haroti Plateau :
This plateau in Rajasthan covers the eastern part along the Chambal river including Kota - Bundi section. It is bounded in the North – west by the great boundary fault of the Aravalis and extends east word across the Rajasthan border till one comes across the sharply defined scarp overlooking Bundelkhand. Its height varies from 320m to 420m above mean sea level. The Chambal flows through this plateau and has carved a gorge from Chaurasigarh to Kota for about 100 kilometers.
This area has abundance of deep black soil derived from deccan trap lava. Because of its elevation and stony character the area is also called ‘ Patharat or Itiparmal ‘.
Girwa Plateau : It is in Udaipur district around the contours of the hills is like a basin Tshtrinuma Girwa is called in the local language.
Oriya Plateau :
It is in Sirohi distt. The height of plateau is 1360 m and is the highest plateau of Rajasthan.
Abu Ka Pathar :
The height of plateau is 1200 m. It is also situated in Sirohi distt.
Bijolia Plateau :
It is also called as Uparmal. The town Bijolia clan is situated on it, found in Bhilwara distt.
Bijason Ka Pathar :
It is also found in Bhilwara distt.
Mesa Ka Pathar : The fort of Chttorgarh is situated on this plateau. The approximate height is 630 m.
