Ajay Raj (1105 - 1153) Shakanbri ( Shammy was one of the early kings of Agnikuliy Chauhanvansh ). Ajay Raja, son of Prithviraj first , became an important ruler in the 12th century.
He defeated the Parmar ruler of Malwa by converting Narvardhan on the edge of the Avanti River to the border of his kingdom to Malwa. According to Prithviraj Vijay, he also defeated Ghajini's army. He issued coins named Ajayyadiramas. The cultural significance of that time can be estimated by the progress of religion, tolerance and education during its reign.
For the expansion of the state, Ajayraj is not very famous, but his reputation is quite due to the construction of Ajmer . In 1113 AD he built a huge city of ' Ajaymira' in his name and filled it with beautiful palaces and temples. From then onwards, Chauhan King started to be the ruler of both Sa'bhar and Ajmer. He rose from the same base and later he was stripped of Delhi from the gahdwals . He gave protection to Jainism Some names of Ajayraj get the name of wife Sombratti. After Ajayraj, his son Arnoraj succeeded him in 1133 AD.
