Explanation:

Shivalik region in Haryana, covers an area of 1970 sq km and is limited to north and north-eastern districts of Panchkula, Yamunanagar and Ambala. However, researchers have reported this area as 600 sq km (Kukal etal. 1991), 2889 sq km (Grewal et al. 1995) and 1920 sq km(Yadav et al. 2005). There is not much variation with respect to area reported by Yadav et al. (2005) but now, boundarieshave been drawn as per physiography rather than any administrative unit.
