None of the above
The Haryana government has written to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) to ban non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) — ketoprofane and aceclofenac — as part of measures to save vultures from extinction. Uttar Pradesh, which has also written to DCGI on the issue, has already restricted the use of these drugs on the lines of Karnataka. S N Roy, additional chief secretary (forest) Haryana, said Haryana government has been running the world’s largest vulture conservation programme at the Jatayu Conservation Breeding Centre (JCBC) in Pinjore since 2004 and is quite concerned about the survival of the species which is on the verge of extinction. Roy is also the chairman of the governing council of JCBC.
