On May 30th, 2018, in the Haryana Cabinet meeting approval was given to enact Haryana State Scheduled Castes Commission Act, 2018.
Under this Act, Haryana State Scheduled Castes Commission will be set up.For the welfare and protection of scheduled castes, this commission will examine and inspect the functions of various security measures provided under the Constitution of India or under any other law, or any order of the government.The Commission will examine complaints related to the rights of the Scheduled Castes and being deprived of safety and will bring cases before the appropriate authorities.The commission will recommend the measures to be taken by the government for effective implementation of security and other measures for the protection, welfare and socio-economic development of the Scheduled Castes and make appropriate reports to the government every year.The commission will have all the powers of the civil court.Commission will have a chairperson and four non-official members.
