Haryanvis residing in Australia recently set up the Association of Haryana in Australia (AHA). The association will be a centre of social, cultural and commercial activities and interaction between Haryanvis and the natives. Australian MP Julia Finn was among those present at a function organised in New South Wales. Sewa Singh Redhu, an office-bearer of the AHA, said that they have set up an office in Sydney that would function as a centre to assist Haryanvi students and other persons who visit Australia. They would also organise cultural events on the special occasions and festivals like Diwali and Holi. The AHA would also celebrate the Haryana Day function on November 2 when General Dalbir Singh Suhag (retd) would be the chief guest.
