Due to help provided in first world war, In A.D. 1903, Raja Jai Chandra was granted the power of adoption, a privilege allowed only to the ruling chiefs. (This honor was granted by Lord Curzon, the Viceroy and Governor General of India).
In A.D. 1908, the title of Raja "as a hereditary distinction" was conferred upon him by Lord Minto Viceroy & Governor General of India.
