Haryana Government has created the Directorate of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare and renamed its District offices and officers. Spokesman of the Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department said that the Directorate would comprise of erstwhile branches of Rajya Sainik Board. The Secretary of the Rajya Sainik Board Deepti Umashankar would be renamed as Director of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department. He said that at the District level, Zila Sainik Board has been renamed as District Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department and the Secretary, Zila Sainik Board as District Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Officer.
