Apart from the above fact, Haryana has approved a new policy proposing out-of-turn appointments in HCS and HPS to sportspersons who win medals in Olympics,world championships/Asian games,CWG and other sporting events.
The state,which accounted for 15 out of India's 38 gold medals in 2010 Commonwealth Games followed by 22 out of the total of 64 medals won by India in 2014 Commonwealth Games,has sent 31 athletes in the ongoing Commonwealth Games.While neighbouring states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh do not have a specific state policy,Haryana has become the first state in India to have one.
NOTE:-2014 Asian Para Games gold medallist -Amit Saroha is an Athletics;Deepa Malik is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games and won a Silver medal at the 2016Summer Paralympics in the Shot put.She has also won gold in F-53/54 Javelin event at the para athletic grand Prix held in Dubai in 2018.She currently is the world number one in the F-53 category.
