Rohtak
Forests Minister Rao Narbir Singh laid the foundation stone for Butterfly Conservatory Park, which will be developed on 15 acres in Sector 52 of Gurugram and will be the biggest butterfly park in North India. The state Forest Department is setting up the park to conserve the species of butterflies that are near extinction because of the massive urbanisation in the area. The park will be developed in association with Uthaan, an NGO. It will be established in about one year. The conservatory park will have information-cum-demo centre, larvae/pupae area, cluster plots having host plant species and nector plant species, green house for in-house propagation, office-cum-record room, floral park, ‘nakshatra’ garden, nursery area, glow worm conservation area, canteen and a souvenir shop.
