Tukaram(1608–1645) was a prominent Varkari Saint and spiritual poet of the Bhakti. He is often referred to with anhonorific, Sant Tukaram. He wrote in a special verse form called the‘ABHANGA’. As was the tradition, he also added his signature, Tuka Mhane or "Tuka Says", at the end of each verse. Guru Ram Das (1534–1581) was the fourth of the ten Gurus of Sikhism. He was born on 24 September 1534 in a poor Hindu family based in Lahore, part of what is now Pakistan. His birth name was Jetha, he was orphaned at age 7, and thereafter grew up with his maternal grandmother in a village. As with the first two Gurus of Sikhism, Guru Amar Das instead of choosing his own sons, chose Bhai Jetha as his successor and renamed him as Ram Das or "servant or slave of god ". Guru Arjan Dev reorganized the Masands system initiated by Guru Ram Das, by suggesting that the Sikhs donate, if possible, one tenth of their income, goods or service to the Sikh organization (dasvand). The Guru Tegh Bahdur was summoned to Delhi by Aurangzeb on a pretext, but when he arrived, he was offered, "to abandon his faith, and convert to Islam". Guru Tegh Bahadur refused, and he and his associates were arrested. He was executed on 11 November 1675 in public in Chandni Chowk, Delhi.
