Guru Angad Dev ji collected the facts from Bhai Bala ji , who was companion on some of Guru ji's journey and wrote the first Janamsakhi( life story of Guru Nanak Dev ji) , also called as Bhai Bale Wali Janamsakhi.
Guru Amar Das ji set up twenty two manjis( preaching districts) , covering different parts of India to spread Guru Nanak Dev ji' s message.
Guru Arjun Dev ji had to raise money for building temples and cities. So, all Sikhs were asked to donate a tenth of their income called 'Daswandh' in the name of Gurus.
Emperor Jahangir imprisoned the Guru Har Gobind ji alongwith other indians in the fort of Gwalior and when the time came for Guru ji to be released from fort, he refused to leave the fort until his co - prisoners were freed too. He led 52 prisoners out of the fort. From that day the guru was known as Bandichhor.
