With a total sanctioned outlay of Rs. 223 crores, RUSA has provided the much needed impetus to the Higher Educational institutions of Punjab. The Govt of Punjab has shown keen interest and contributed beyond its required share from time to time to accomplish the RUSA projects in time.

Under RUSA, two New Model Degree Colleges at Pathankot and Ferozpur have been constructed and have already started the academic session from this year. It is heartening to note that in the very first year of their inception, 900 students have taken admission at MDC Pathankot and 416 students at MDC Ferozpur.
