The present funding pattern of Centre and state to implement SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhyian) is ?
75 : 25
70 : 30
65 : 35
60 : 40
The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009 provides a legal entitlement to every child of the age of six to fourteen years for free and compulsory elementary education in a neighbourhood school. The Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), which is the designated scheme for meeting the objectives of the RTE Act, 2009, provides assistance to State Governments and UT Administrations for universalization of elementary education in the country. However, taking into account the requirement of funds for implementation of the Right of Children to Free & Compulsory Education (RTE), Act, 2009 the Government has notified a more favorable fund sharing pattern of 65:35 (90:10 for NE States) applicable from 2010-11.
