- Assam still has 200 million metric ton (MMT) of crude oil reserve which could be used for various purposes for the next 55 years.
- The natural gas a reserve of 102815 million cubic meter which could be used for another 41 years. Coal and lime has 320 MMT and 650 MMT reserves respectively.
- While coal reserves could be used for 100 years, lime could last 200 years.
- Assam has received Rs 20472 crore as oil royalty from OIL and ONGC in between 2006-07 and 2018-19.

This statistic gives the production volume of onshore crude oil across Assam in India from fiscal year 2012 to fiscal year 2018. The crude oil production amounted to almost 4.2 million metric tons in Assam during fiscal year 2016, down from about 4.4 million metric tons in fiscal year 2015.

- Oil India Private Limited (OIL) and Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) are the two main players involved in oil exploration and extraction in Assam.
- There are four oil refineries in Assam – Digboi Refinery, Guwahati Refinery, Bongaigaon Refinery and Numaligarh Refinery.
