Farm Pond Scheme (khet talab yojana)

Objective of the Scheme:

=> To motivate farmers for water conservation and its proper use.

=> Store rain water and use it for irrigation.

=> Safe use of stored water.

=> Increase in ground water level.

Target And Area Of Operation Of The Scheme:

=> First Phase - Construction of 2000 ponds in all the developmental blocks of 7 district of Bundelkhand. Proposed expenditure is Rs.12.20 crores.

=> Second Phase - Construction of 3384 ponds by spending Rs.27.88 crores in highly water extracted 167 critical developmental block of 44 district 0f the state including Bundelkhand.

Size of Pond:

=> Small sized Pond-(22x20x3 mtr):Cost per Pond-Rs.105000

=> Medium Sized Pond-(35x30x3 mtr): Cost per Pond-Rs.228400

Grant:

=> 50%(Grant will be released by DBT in three installments).

Selection of Beneficiary:

=> Priority to scheduled caste/scheduled tribes, minorities and small/marginal farmers(According to the approved list of District magistrate)

=> One farmer is eligible for one pond only.

=> On-line registration of farmer and alternative of field pond is essential.
