What is the news:
Haryana has announed that an amount of Rs 5,000 will be given as medical aid to the below poverty line (BPL) Covid patients on home isolation. The amount will be sent directly to their bank account. It would be mandatory to have the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) of the beneficiary Covid patients to avail this aid.
Under another initiative of the state government, Covid patients of the Haryana who were BPL and were not availing the facility under Ayushman Bharat Yojana would be given subsidy and the amount would be deducted from the bill at the time of the discharge of the patient. The state government had set an incentive amount of Rs 1,000 per patient per day to a maximum of Rs 7,000 for the patients in private hospitals authorised by the state government for the treatment of Covid, and this amount would be deposited in the bank account of the hospitals when the patient was discharged.
