What is the News:

As per the state government, it is providing social security pension to 5.77 lakh persons, including 60,000 women, in the 65 to 70 age group. The state government is spending about Rs 862 crore per annum on providing social security pension to all the weaker and vulnerable sections of society.
In one of the first decisions taken by the government, the age limit of eligibility for social security pension was reduced from 80 to 70 years without any income limit so as to bring maximum people of the state under social security. With this decision of the state government, 1,63,607 people have got direct benefit in the form of social security pension.

Various Pension Schemes by HP Govt.

1	Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension	Applicant age must be 60 years or above. Belong to BPL family. Rs. 700/- per month for beneficiary between 60 to 79 years of age and Rs. 1250/- per month are provided to a beneficiary above 80 years of age
2	Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension	Applicant must be widow between 40-79 years of age. Belong to BPL family. Rs. 750/- per month is given to the beneficiary
3	Indira Gandhi National Handicapped Pension	Applicant must be 80% or more handicapped. Belong to BPL family. Rs. 1250/- per month is given to the beneficiary
4	Old Age Pension	Applicant age must be 60 years or above. Yearly household income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 35,000/-. or Applicant age must be 70 years or above. Certificate from the applicant that he/she is not receiving any other pension.
5	Pension Scheme for Widow/Destitute/Single Women	Applicant must be widow aged 18 years or above. Yearly household income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 35,000/-.
6	Transgender Pension Scheme	Certificate from Medical board. Applicant should not be serving in government/semi government sector.
