As many as 32 more grain markets will be linked to the e-NAM (electronic national agriculture market) portal. So far, 81 mandis are integrated through the single window service which was started to strengthen the agriculture marketing.
The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) has sent a detailed project report (DPR) to the Centre and it is expected that these grain markets will be integrated in the first quarter of 2021. “We have submitted the DPR for these grain markets to the Centre and these will be integrated soon,” said Sumedha Kataria, Chief Administrator, HSAMB.
With these new e-NAM mandis, the total number of mandis on the online portal will increase to 113.
The HSAMB Chief Administrator said the new mandis included four from Bhiwani, three each in Gurugram, Faridabad and Yamunanagar, two each in Jhajjar, Ambala, Fatehabad, and Palwal and one each in Jind, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Hisar, Sirsa, Sonepat, Kaithal and Rohtak.
She said 27,21,603 farmers had got themselves registered on the e-NAM portal, while 11,762 traders had been registered on it. As many as 237 farmer-producers’ organisations are registered on the portal.
