Dr. Rajendra Prasad was born on 3 December 1884 in a village called Jiradei in the then Saran district of Bihar (now Siwan). Dr. Rajendra Prasad died on 28 February 1963 at Sadakat Ashram, Patna. Sadaqat Ashram in Patna was established by Mazharul Haq during the Non-Cooperation Movement. Mazharul Haq obtained a piece of land in donation from his friend Khairu Mian on Patna Danapur Road, the same place in which Sadaqat Ashram was built for the national movement in 1921, where the work of making charkha by students started, later on This Sadaqat Ashram became the office of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee
