Dr Sidhu new VC of Bathinda tech varsity

Dr Buta Singh Sidhu has been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University, Bathinda. His appointment was approved by the Punjab Governor.

Prior to his new assignment, Dr Sidhu was the officiating Registrar and Dean, Planning and Development, at the university.

He was on the panel of three candidates approved by the Board of Governors of the university. The others were Dr BS Pabla from the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh, and KK Raina, Vice Chancellor, DIT University, Dehradun.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), formerly Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University,[1] is a State technical university of Punjab located in Bathinda, Punjab, India. It was established in 2015 and has jurisdiction over 11 districts namely Bathinda, Ferozepur, Moga, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Fazilka.[2] University will function from upgraded Giani Zail Singh Punjab Technical University Campus.
