 The Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and PWD Minister of State Keshav Prasad Maurya, announced the development of 800 km herbal roads along the state and national highways through the state.


Key Points -

  • These herbal roads will have herbal and medicinal trees on the both sides of the road.
  • The trees on the herbal roads include Peepal, Neem, Sehjan along with herbal trees like Brahmi, Ashvagandha and Jatrofa.

Objectives -

  • The Herbal roads scheme is for development and beauty purposes and to promote biodiversity and cultivation of herbal and medicinal plants.
  • These herbal gardens will help to reduce and control air-borne, bacteria and other diseases.
  • The trees will support in prevention of soil erosion and provide raw materials for the medicine.
  • The rain water harvest system arrangements will be made in this herbal roads by the Public Works Department(PWD).
