Redevelopment of Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Power Plant: Cabinet has approved redevelopment of 1,764 acres of the now-closed Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Power Plant in Bathinda. The land, belonging to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), will now be acquired by the Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA).
The Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant:- at Bathinda was one of the three thermal power stations in Punjab. It was a medium-sized power station with four units that were begun to be built in early 1970s and completed in 1982. All total generate up to 460 MW of power that meets the mammoth irrigation needs of lower Punjab.
