Project Virasat is an endeavour to uplift the various craftsmen of India by institutionalisation, brand development and establishing market linkages. Currently, They are working with the UNESCO listed craftsmen, the Thatheras of Jandiala Guru, Punjab.
The Thatheras of Jandiala Guru are skilled craftsmen specializing in the traditional technique of making hand crafted brass and copper utensils, like katori, karhai, patila etc in Punjab.
This unique craft form has been listed in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage 2014. Through this project, the thatheras are directly linked to the customers, thereby eliminating or minimising the role of the middlemen.
