Vipin Parmar to be new Speaker of Himachal Vidhan Sabha :
1. Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Vipin Parmar would be the next speaker of the Vidhan Sabha. His name was finalised at the meeting of the BJP legislature party presided over by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
2. The post of Speaker was lying vacant since January after Rajiv Bindal resigned and was made state BJP chief. With this speculation over the new Speaker is over and now there will be three vacancies in the Cabinet.
3. After the election of Kishan Kapoor to Lok Sabha and resignation of Anil Sharma, two posts were vacant in the Cabinet and now there are three. A three-time MLA Parmar was elected to Vidhan Sabha for the first time in 1998 from Sulah assembly constituency and was re-elected in 2007 and 2017.

Vipin Singh Parmar is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Parmar is a member of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and represents the Sullah Vidhan Sabha constituency. Parmar is the Health and Family Welfare Minister in the Himachal Pradesh Government.

Himachal Pradesh is the first state in India to launch paperless legislative assembly known as eVidhan.
The Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly has no pre-Constitution history. The state itself is a post-independence creation. It first came into being as a centrally administered territory on 15 April 1948 by the integration of 30 erstwhile princely states.
Himachal Pradesh is governed through a parliamentary system of representative democracy, a feature the state shares with other Indian states. Universal suffrage is granted to residents.The legislature of Himachal Pradesh is unicameral and at present, the Assembly has a strength of 68. The tenure of the Assembly is five years unless it is sooner dissolved. There are 14 House Committees in the Assembly.
