Explanation:

History of Training in forest department  is much older. First forest guard  training centre was opend at Gorakhpur in 1936. Considerable emphasis  was given to it after independence. Following are the training centres that exist in uttarakhand before formation of state in 2000. After the formation of Uttarakhand new forest guard training premises were built in Rampur Mandi  and Kalsi centre in district Dehradun under World Bank forestry project  and were functional from 2002. The total forest area of ??protected wildlife area is 12 percent and the state is full of wildlife. Therefore, in order to  give due importance  on wildlife a training center in Kalagad was opened in the year 2000 with the assistance of the World Bank . In 2002 the Forestry Training Institute Haldwani has been named Forestry Training Academy.
