Baghelkhadn Plateau is situated in the north-east of Madhya Pradesh. Sidhi-Shahdole part of Baghelkhand Plateau is in Madhya Pradesh. It is made of Gondwana rock system also some part made of Vindhyan Granite rock. Sidhi-Shahdol part of Baghelkhand Plateau is also known as eastern Plateau.
Important rivers passes through Baghelkhand Plateau- Son, Johila etc. It spreads over eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh. The central part of the plateau acts as a water divide between the Son drainage system in the north and the Mahanadi river system in the south.
