British occupation of the Bhil dominant region of Khandesh infuriated the Bhils. Thus the Bhils revolted against the British and the struggle lasted for almost two year from 1817 to 1819. However, the rebellion was suppressed and the Bhils were pacified. But once again an uprising against the British was made in 1825 by the Bhils under the leadership of Seva Ram. This time the struggle lasted for a long period of time till 1831.
