The annual session of Indian National Congress was held in March 1939 at Tripuri near Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh in which Subhash Chandra Bose was the President, he defeated Pattabhi Sitaramaiya in the Presidential elections of Indian National Congress. But due to a dispute between the other members of Congress and Subhash Chandra Bose, Bose resigned from the post of President and Rajendra Prasad was made the President.
