In compliance with the Supreme Court order on stubble burning, Haryana has decided to pay its small and marginal farmers Rs 100 per quintal for non-basmati produce against a commitment that they won’t burn stubble. Farmers have already given details of the crops grown by them on ‘Meri Fasal, Mera Byora’ portal of the government. On the total liability of the state, the tentative amount should not be more than Rs 40 crore (the exact amount could be known only after all beneficiaries were identified).
