Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said the National Register of Citizens (NRC) would be implemented in the State.

Highlights :

• The Haryana Chief Minister said that in HaryanaNRC will be implemented along the lines of Assam, while talking to the mediapersons after meeting Justice (retired) HS Bhalla, former chairman of Haryana Human Rights Commission in Panchkula.
• The State Government is working on a fast pace on family identity card and its data would also be used in the NRC.
• Notably, the final NRC in Assam was released on August 31, leaving out 19 lakh people. Following this, several political parties had voiced their dissatisfaction with the final document.
• Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also said the Haryana Government will look into the feasibility of setting up a Law Commission.
• Moreover, the social audit system would be implemented so that the audit of development works could be done by the intellectuals in the society, in which ex-servicemen, teachers, engineers or others having special achievement would be included. For this, in the coming time a separate Voluntary Department would also be formed.
