• In a first, Amritsar is going to host ‘The Sikh Awards’ to recognise the achievements of individuals and organisations on a global level.
• The event would be organised by UK-based NGO ‘The Sikh Group’ at the newly furbished Gobindgarh Fort on November 16.
• The ceremony would see 100 Sikhs from around the world, traversing in business, education, media, entertainment, sports, entertainment, charity and religious fields, being honoured.
• Anyone who has “Singh” or “Kaur” after his or her name can apply. Nominations are being received daily via the official website.
• This multi-cultural global event has been held in London, Delhi, Toronto and Nairobi.
• ‘The Sikh Awards’ have continued to grow, honouring excellence since its inception in 2010.
• A panel of esteemed experts from all faiths examines the contributions made by individuals and organisations which apply online.

This event will see attendance of over 500 guests of all faiths, from elite international dignitaries to public figures, community heroes, sports stars and celebrities. Apart from the Chief Minister, heads of all parties, religious organisations, including SGPC president and Akal Takht Jathedar, elite businessmen from India, Kenya, UK and USA would grace the occasion.
