In the former state of Tehri, Dola-Palaki movement is related to ?
Brahmin
Craftsmen
Rajputs
Islam
In Garhwal, there has been a tradition of using dola-palaki on the occasions of marriage of upper castes and local Muslim young men and women. The work of lifting the dola-palanquin in the procession was mainly done by the craftsmen. But the Savarna society denied him the use of the dola-palanquin on the occasion of the marriage of his own sons and daughters. The craftsmen and brides were not given the social right to sit on the dola-palanquin and such riders. Craftsmen who behaved contrary to the rule were punished.
In the beginning of the establishment of Arya Samaj in Garhwal, the enlightened people like Gangadat Joshi (Tehsildar) Jotsingh Negi (Santhal Officer), Narendra Singh (Chief Reader), etc. had done the work of spreading the ideas of Arya Samaj to the masses. But being unorganized and less widespread, their efforts could establish influence over a limited area. The Dola-Palaki movement lasted for about 20 years. The life of this movement was Jayanand Bharti. Born into a lower craftsman family, Jayanand Bharti struggled to bring Swami Dayanand's message of equality to the masses.
