Explanation:

Tiger is National heritage of India to the Tigers in India Government of India created a scheme known as "Project Tiger" from 1/4/1973. In this scheme initially 9 areas were identified which were natural habitat of Tiger; having potential to increase the population of Tigers. Today there are 26 "Project Tigers" in India.

OBJECTIVES

To conserve the natural habitat of Tiger through better Wildlife Management in Tiger Project areas.
To conserve and protect the Tigers and to increase their population and to check them from becoming extent.
To preserve for all times ,area of biological importance as a national heritage for the benefit ,education and enjoyment of the people.

There are three Tiger Projects in Maharashtra State, namely Melghat (Amravati) comprising of Gugamal national park, Melghat Wild Life sanctuary and multiple use area,Tadoba-Andhari(Chandrapur) comprising of Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wild Life santuary and Pench (Nagpur) comprising of Pench National Park.
