 Rajasthan has many thermal power plants to generate electrical energy for the state. These coal-based Rajasthan power plants are the main sources of electric energy in the state.Rajasthan mainly relies on coal to satisfy its energy needs. With growing power requirement, the Rajasthan state government has requested the Central Government for more coal supply. To keep pace with the industrial growth, Rajasthan has announced several power projects in the state. These upcoming power projects are supposed to produce sufficient energy supply for the entire state. The state government is not trying to depend on coal only. It is also trying to generate electrical energy by harnessing other natural resources. Wind is very high in some regions of the state. At present, about 740 MW is generated from wind energy every year in Rajasthan.
