=> Radha Govinda Baruah was born on 17th October 1900 and died on 15th July 1977.

=> He was the founder of the Assam Tribune Group - a group of news papers

=> Founded Assam Tribune in 1939

=> He is called ‘The architect of modern Assam’ for his contribution in the field of education.

=> He is also called ‘Singhapurush’ (‘Lion Man’)

=> He is also a sports enthusiast and served as the president of Assam Cricket Association for over a decade

=> Under his initiative Assam Flying Club was started in 1958 in Shillong and he was the first president of it.

=> Nehru Stadium in Guwahati was built under his leadership.

=> RG Baruah auctioned the first lot tea of Guwahati Tea Auction Centre in the inaugural sale in 1970.
