The state government of Haryana has announced measures to increase the reach of state health services and make quality health services more accessible for the less privileged sections of society.
As part of the state’s endeavour in this regard, 2023 was celebrated as ‘Antyodaya Arogya Varsh’ by the state government.
Notably, the year 2023 was celebrated as the Antyodaya Arogya Varsh’ taking forward the journey of efforts for Antyodaya Utthan Year 2022. It is noteworthy here that according to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s Antyodaya philosophy, it was resolved to celebrate the year 2022 as Antyodaya Utthan Varsh to bring the sections who have lagged behind in the society for some reason into the mainstream.
Under the Antyodaya Utthan, emphasis has been laid on five major comonents- Education, Health, Security, Self-Respect and Selfreliance while ensuring all-round development of the citizens. Under the Antyodaya Arogya Year, the state government endeavored to ensure that every citizen of the state got better health facilities and the poor person did not have to face any kind of difficulty for treatment.
With this vision, the state government launched the Healthy Haryana Scheme, under which the health of Antyodaya families of the state was checked in the first phase. Under the Nirogi Haryana Yojana, health check-ups of all the citizens have been started once every two years in order to obtain details regarding their health. Expanding the Ayushman scheme, CHIRAYU Yojana has been implemented under which 29 lakh families with an annual income of upto Rs 1.80 lakh would be given free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh in empanelled government and private hospitals.
