Introduction
Unveiled by Chief Minister Arjun Munda on the State’s foundation day, the scheme envisages financial aid to the families of below the poverty line (BPL) on the birth of girl child.As per the scheme mooted by the Planning and Programme Implementation Department, the State government will deposit Rs 6,000 every year into a post office saving account in the name of newly born girl child upto timewhen she has grown to an age of five years.
This scheme is seen as a positive step towards motivating a fair child sex ratio.
