Punjab has been in the forefront of the Green Revolution in the late 60s and 70s with abundant agro base.Witth a view to develop agro indstries, the state, government has announced its Agro Policy in 2009.Interest Subsidy is provided to agro units, infra projects and for modernisation and technology and upgradation.In order to speed up the investment the state has lowered the threshold limit for investment from Rs.100 crore to 25 crore for mega projects. Punjab Agro (PAGREXCO) has been providing following subsidies from the Corpus Fund being maintained by it for distant domestic marketing and exports of flowers, fruits & vegetables to the growers.
