The Department of Renewable Energy, Haryana is the nodal department for the state of Haryana for Renewable Energy (RE), Demand Side Management (DSM) and Energy Conservation programmes. The State Government has set up Haryana RenewableEnergy Development Agency (HAREDA) to assist the Department in implementation of its activities as State Nodal Agency(SNA).HAREDA is implementing a programme on promotion of generation of power from non-conventional energy sources with an objective to meet the increasing demand for power through renewable energy sources like small hydro, solar, biomass, bagasse and industrial waste. HAREDA is continuously engaged in identification of new sites and proposals for setting up of renewable energy based power projects in the state.In addition to this, HAREDA is also implementing socially oriented programmes like solar home lighting systems, solar street lights, solar cookers, small solar power packs,solar water pumping systems, soalr water heating systems,solar inverter chargers etc. to benefit deprived sections of the society and general public.
