The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has decided to introduce surcharge waiver scheme, reconnection of disconnected consumers and impunity from framing of theft case in case of replacement of defective meter in the villages covered under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) on similar pattern.Consumer would be allowed to deposit the principal amount in lump sum or in a maximum of six equal bi-monthly installments payable alongwith the next six bills. In case, the consumer opts to pay in lump sum, additional rebate of five per cent on assessed principal amount would be allowed. Surcharge amount as on the date or month of opting the scheme would be frozen. After one year that is on payment of six bills, 40 per cent of the frozen surcharge amount would be waived off. Another 30 per cent of the frozen surcharge amount would be waived off at the end of second year on full payment of bills during the year and the remaining amount of frozen surcharge would be waived off at the end of third year on full payment of bills during the year. of Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon Yojana (MGJGY).
