Bir Shikargah Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Panchkula district of Haryana state, India. It is spread over an area of 767.30 hectares (1,896.0 acres). It also houses Vulture Conservation and Breeding Centre, Pinjore.It is 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) away from Pinjore on Pinjor-Mallah Road.[1] It is 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Kalka, 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Panchkula, 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Chandigarh, 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Morni Hill station. Forests Department, Haryana of Government of Haryana officially notified this as Wildlife Sanctuary 29 May 1987.In 2009, the Government of India declared it an Eco-sensitive Zone (ESZ), as a result development will not be permitted within a 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) radius.
