None
From July 1, the use of common items like plastic sticks, plastic flags, candy sticks, plastic-made plates, cups and glasses has become illegal as part of the nationwide ban on single-use plastic.
The single-use plastic will now invite financial penalty, suspension of licence, and imprisonment as per the state government rules.
The ban is being enforced under the New Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rule 2021.
According to the concerned officials, the punishment is not restricted to mere financial penalties.
The Rajasthan state pollution control board claim that they are empowered to cancel the trade license under the relevant sections if they found that production of single-use plastic is taking place in any unit.
The enforcement will take place in three phases.
The state pollution control board will carry out inspections of manufacturing units and identify the units flouting the norms related to the ban.
The urban development department will fix the penalties and carry out inspections in markets or within their territory.
The gram panchayat will follow the same path but in the rural areas.
