Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has approved a proposal of Rs. 14.37 crore for the construction of a new building of the Bar Council of Rajasthan.
The new building of the Bar Council will be built in the premises of the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur.
Upon this approval, a 500-person capacity auditorium, strong room, electric room and staff room etc. will be constructed on the ground floor of the new building of the Bar Council and the room and other facilities of the Secretary and office bearers of the Bar Council on the ground floor will be developed.
The High Court of Rajasthan was founded in 1949 at Jaipur, and was inaugurated by the Rajpramukh, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh on 29 August 1949.
Later on, after complete integration of Rajasthan in 1956 it was moved at Jodhpur on recommendation of the Satyanarayan Rao committee.
